Founded in 1961 as a music festival at the ancient Roman amphitheater in Caesarea, the Israel Festival set home in Jerusalem in 1980's, establishing itself as Israel's premiere multi-disciplinary international festival. The Festival takes place annually in the spring, presenting outstanding theatre performances, contemporary dance, classical music and performance from around the world, along with ground breaking Israeli works and open to the public street performances.
The Helsinki Festival is the largest annual arts event in the Nordic-Baltic region. With its innovative international programming, the festival creates a celebration of the arts, generating an uplifting and energizing atmosphere through a broad range of disciplines and events. The festival takes place at the end of August, hosts hundreds of artists from all over the globe and draws up to 200,000 visitors. Its lineup offers music, circus, dance, theatre, film, children’s and urban events.
