Pannonica is a cultural show-piece of the Sądecki region and the apotheosis of diversity, multiculturalism and musical variety of Poland and the whole New Europe. It takes place in an idyllic valley of Poprad at the historic migration route of the peoples and cultures from the south to the north of Europe. In the last days of August the fans of ethnic rhythms from Poland and abroad come to the field located in front of the barn in Barcice. During the three days of the festival, top original folk groups from the whole area of influence of the former Austro-Hungarian Monarchy perform on stage. Pannonica folk festival is more than just a vigorous open-air music festival. It is a place of multidisciplinary meetings of musicians and local artists who are professionally involved in music inspired by the traditional Carpathian and Central and Eastern European music. In addition to the Polish and international stars on stage, the lively festival village is another big attraction of the event. Few thousands participants live at the campsite and may take part in music, handicraft, dance and theatre workshops, as well as film shows and meetings with the writers. Artistic animation events for children have a special place, too. The idea of Slow Food and Slow Life, as well as respect for nature is promoted at the festival - also in practice, for example: waste sorting. The festival is children friendly. Families with children constitute a very important and still growing part of our audience.
