Born out of Lennart Meri’s idea in 1987 the Pärnu International Documentary and Anthropology Film Festival is the oldest of its kind in the Baltic region. It presents authentic documentary stories, masterpieces telling stories from the survival of indigenous peoples through to dramatic conflicts in highly developed societies. Estonian Television broadcasts 6 of the best documentaries, and after the last film is shown viewers can vote for their favourite to be awarded the Estonian People’s Award.
