Milano Musica, founded to achieve a significant presence in contemporary music and support new creativity, organizes a Festival every year (now at its 27th edition), produced in collaboration with Teatro alla Scala and recognized at an international level. Milano Musica Festival engages the city in concerts, lectures with composers, educational activities and open air events. In particular, 2017 edition’s audience counted 10.214 participants.
2018 Festival "György Kurtág. Listening to Beckett", from October 20th to November 26th, presents 22 concerts, lectures and a preview in Milan’s suburbs, and is dedicated to the hungarian composer György Kurtág on the occasion of the premiere of his first opera "Samuel Beckett: Fin de partie" at Teatro alla Scala on November 15th 2018.
International artists and ensembles and the major Italian orchestras will participate in a program that explores Kurtág’s works and his connection to Beckett’s universe, with 9 world premieres, 7 Italian premieres and 5 newly committed pieces.
