Cerveira International Art Biennial, the oldest art festival in Portugal, is focused on the promotion of contemporary art. Since its establishment in 1978 it has developed a national and international reputation for fostering and stimulating the region’s creativity, cultural decentralization and internationalization. This biennale provides a space for meeting, interaction and dissemination of ideas, and is an opportunity for the acknowledgement of the achievements of national and international artists.
The Hungarian Dance House Festival and Fair is one of the most important national folkore festivals of the year - a cavalcade of traditional folk music, folk dance, handcrafts and folk arts of the Hungarian language region. Active participation of the general public, amateurs, professionals, children, folk musicians, folk dancers, dance groups , music schools, traditional village musicians and dancers and folk artists.
The Victoria International Arts Festival is an uninterrupted 5-week series of events consisting mainly of classical chamber music but also including orchestras, choirs, solo recitals, jazz groups, big bands, dance evenings and a mini-Baroque Festival. This festival in Gozo’s capital welcomes renowned international and Maltese musicians, and masterclasses, literary events and exhibitions form part of the artistic programme. All concerts and artistic/cultural events are free of charge. VIAF is the longest-running festival of its kind on the islands.
