Dala-Floda Operafest is a small festival with a big heart. The beautiful authentic village of Dala-Floda, by a river and a lake, becomes the venue: the grocery store, a house from 1540, the barn, the People’s Park, the church and a boat on the lake are the site of concerts by artists who may be stars from the Met or La Scala as well as young talent starting their career. Every year young people with psychological disabilities learn to perform opera, and refugees take part in the festival too.
Festival Total Danse was started in 2010 through the will and effort of Reunion Island’s TEAT Champ Fleuri and TEAT Plein Air directors Pascal Montrouge and Bernard Faille, with the aim of creating a showcase event hinging around the body. While dance is naturally its major element, the festival offers a mix of other artistic disciplines: visual arts, drama, films or artist performances are also on the agenda. For 17 days, more than 15 artistic teams perform before a total audience of 16,000.
