Every summer the Early Music Festival in Miercurea Ciuc brings together almost 150 musicians of all levels, from professional to emerging artists, from all over Europe. They spend a week together with their audience in this charming small town, playing historical instruments in authentic interpretations of the pieces in concerts on the street, in churches and in cultural centres. In this multicultural atmosphere they celebrate Europe’s early music traditions. During the last few years, the festival had performers from several European countries, among which we can find the most outstanding European masters of the Early Music. The festival also offers musicians the chance to take part on different professional courses: among the festival s programmes, since 2008 the public can also find the Early Music Summer University, with instrumental masterclasses and discourses.
