The Cottier Chamber Project

not awarded

The Cottier Chamber Project began in 2011 and is a 3-week festival of chamber music and dance that takes place in Glasgow’s West End in June. The festival concentrates mainly on Scottish based artists, with a number of international guests invited to take part each year. The evening programme of relaxed hour-long performances includes familiar and unusual repertoire, new commissions, and works from a huge variety of periods and genres, providing something for every taste. The lunchtime series, which is free, looks at either a specific composer or a genre (Bach in 2014, lieder in 2015). The main venue is Cottier's Theatre, a grade-A listed former church with a spectacularly decorated interior which is gradually being restored.
