Cerealia is a festival dedicated to all grains, reminiscent of the ancient Roman rites of Vesta and Ceres. Cerealia involves all the countries of the Mediterranean and every year a different country is invited to be the focus of the festival. It is an occasion for cultural exchange on issues such as culture, nutrition, environment, economy, land, society and tourism. Festival activities, which take place across Italy, include performances, food tastings, guided tours, conferences and workshops for children and adults. In 2015 Cerealia was included in the Expo Event and both in 2015 and 2016 the festival cooperated with other international festival in Croatia and Morocco. In 2016 was elected among the Cultural Event of Excellence of Lazio Region, Italy. The 2017 edition will be dedicated to Europe and to the 60th anniversary of Trattato di Roma. The event is inserted in the calendar of the Italian institutional initiatives related to the 60th anniversary of the Treaty of Rome
