Aarhus Jazz Festival is a popular cultural event during summertime with both international and Danish artists in the program and a strong local jazz environment. The festival is known for high quality concerts within all genres of jazz, representing diversity and accessibility, and remaining true to its original ambition of presenting international, national and local names as well as new talent in quality jazz. This strategy creates a programme that combines old favourites with the unpredictable. The 300 concerts and events can be experienced at cafés, jazz clubs, in tents and churches, in the streets, at art museums, galleries and established concert halls. The program features accomplished musicians and young talent, as well as jazz lunch, jazz for children and other types of events. The festival was founded in 1989 and is the second largest jazz festival in Denmark with around 30.000 visitors. Website and printed program are in Danish and English language. The festival is an association of concert organisers with the festival office managing the day-to-day affairs.
